The Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board today announced John Green of Laing O’Rourke as a member of the Board. John joins Angela Seidel of PMP Limited as an independent OHS professional on the Board.

John is HSEQ Director, Australasian Hub for Laing O’Rourke, a privately owned, international company operating across engineering, construction and asset management services. John holds qualifications in OHS, risk management and law with a PhD in psychology.

In welcoming John, Professor Mike Capra Chair of Board, said that John’s qualifications and extensive experience in OHS and management will enhance the activities of the Accreditation Board in influencing OHS education and the capability of those providing OHS advice as well as the operational activities of the Board.

Board membership also includes OHS academics, representatives of the Safety Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the Australian New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine, Chris Sutherland MD of Programmed, Deborah Vallance representing the ACTU and Meagan Browne of the Victorian Workcover Authority.

Experience

John operates at Director-level with experience in the oil, petrochemical, aviation, utilities and electronics industries both in the UK and overseas. He has worked both in the public sector as an HSE inspector and in the private sector. He has delivered Six Sigma projects to black belt level.
